About Itanagar

Placed on foothills of the Himalayas Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. The place reveals ancients structure with a historical value and reflects the socio-cultural outlook of the state. Itanagar is situated at the foothills. The township is situated at 350 metres above mean sea level. Consecrated by the Dalai Lama, the Buddhist temple, a beautiful yellow roofed shrine reflects the extensive Tibetan influence and provides good views of Itanagar and the surrounding countryside.

How to reach

By Road: Deluxe buses depart from Guwahati. 
By Train: Major cities are connected to Itanagar by train. Nearest station is Gohpur.
By Air: To reach Itanagar you can get off at Tezpur airport or Rowriah Airport (Jorhat). Lilabari Airport in Assam is also within the reach. Avail the Helicopter service between Guwahati to Naharlagun.
