About Jampui Hill

This hill range is located in the northern side of Tripura and is about 1000 meters above from the sea level, and near the border of Mizoram. The Jampui hill ranges are famous for viewing sunset and sunrise, different wild flowers and plants, orchids and the green cover providing suitable environment for cultivation of crops like coffee, ginger, oranges, etc which are source of income for the people living here who are mostly tribal farmers by occupation.


How to reach

By Road : The nearest place from Jampui Hills is Dharmanagar from where state buses are directly available towards these hill ranges.
By Rail : The nearest rail station is in Dharmanagar, from where narrow gauge trains are available.
By Air : The nearest Airport is in Agartala. Jampui hills is about 200 kms from here.

  • The best time to visit is in between October to March when the valley gets covered with an orange hue owing to the plenty of oranges cultivated here.

  • The cuisine here is mainly local with an influence of the tribal and non-tribal population.

  • The main attractions of this hill ranges are viewing the sunset and sunrise from the top of the hills. The Chittagong hill tracts, parts of Mizoram and Tripura can be viewed from atop the 'Betlingchhip' which is the highest peak of Tripura situated in this this hill range which is 3600 metres above sea level.

  • Trekking, rock climbing, shopping for oranges grown by the local tribes here, eco-tourism is conducted by the government here in these hills.
