About Rajgarh

Popularly known as the Peach valley, Rajgarh is also known as a green valley. It is located in the Sirmour district and is predominantly a land of the Shiva Durga. Apart from beinga religious place, Rajgarh is also famous for its natural beauty and enjoys its proximity to the base camp of the Churdhar trekking site. Here you can find thicvk forests of pine, fir, teak and deodar at Hubban as well as orchards of apple and peach. In fact, Peach from this place is imported to a number of countries.


How to reach

By Road : Rajgarh is located around 40 kilometres away from Solan. Rajgarh is around 340 kilometres from Delhi. From Solan, one can get both buses and private cabs for hire for this place. 
By Rail : Nearest railway station is at Kalka which is located 80 kilometres away. Buses and cabs are also available from the station as well. 
By Air : Chandigrah is the nearest airport located 100 kilometres away. This airport is the only arial connection that Rajgarh enjoys with the outside world.

  • When to visit
  • Tourists can visit this place throughout the year. However, it is advisable not to venture into this place during the months of monsoon as the weather becomes inclement for communication.

  • A good number of hotels and restaurants are there that serves local dishes and beverages. They also serve North Indian and Continental dishes as well.

  • Attractions
  • Shaya Temple : This temple is having a huge number of followers. Dedicated to the local deity named- Lord Shargul, this temple is also a repository of the history of this place. 
    Baru Sahib Gurudwara : The local gurudwara is worth a visit. It is located right on the banks of a tributary of the Giri river. 
    Apart from these, one can also visit the local peach and apple gardens. Hubban, which is located nearby is famous for green covers. It is also a favourirte picnic spot for many tourists.

  • Activities
  • - Rajgarh is also considered a mini paradise for those who are interested in trekking. Nohradhar, the base camp for a trek to Churdhar is located halfway between Rajgarh and Haripurdhar. Apart from this some other notable trekking routes located nearby are- Dokhta-- - Churdhar, Sarahan-Churdhar and many more. 
    There are some good picnic spots located nearby. So if you are visiting with your frinds and want to have some fun, then you should explore these spots.
