Shoghi is a small town, located 13 kilometres away from Shimla and is often considered as an alternative for Shimla. This serene and clam place epitomises beauty in a different way. For many tourists, this is a alternative for Shimla, because of its ethereal obscurity and the lack of crowd that is common in any city nowadays. Shoghi is blessed with amazing weather conditions and accommodation facilities are available throughout the year.

How to reach

By Road : Nearest major towns are Shimla, located 13 kilometres away and Solan, which is located 17 kilometres away. Buses are available from here quite easily.
By Rail : Kalka is the nearest railway station located 90 kilometres away. This station connects this region with the rest of the country.
By Air : Jubbaghatti airport in Shimla is the nearest one located 22 kilometres away. Cabs are easily available from the terminus.

  • October to June is the best time to visit this place. The weather remains pleasant during this time of the year. Avoid this region during the monsoon.

  • Kandaghat - It is a small town located at an height of 4,700 feet. TJis place provides a bird’s eye view of the entire town. Also it provides a peek into the history of this place. 
    Viceroy Lodge - Located 5 kilometres away from the city centre, this mammonth sized mansion was buolt for Lord Dufferin in the year 1988. This place is repository of colonial history. 
    Tara Devi Temple - It happens to be one of the oldest temple in this region. Situated on the top of Tara Parvat, this temple was built around 250 years ago and is dedicated to Goddess Kali.

  • - Shoghi is considered to be a living paradise for adventurists and sport enthusiasts. Here you can enjoy activities like- Camping, Hiking and trekking. Also there are some sweet spots from where you can to watch some rare and beautiful birds. So, our advise is that do carry a good set of binocular.
