About Sidhout Fort

Sidhout Fort, situated near Siddhavattam village in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh lies on the banks of the Pennar River. A special feature of the fort  is an ancillary passage allowing people to enter when the main gates are closed. It is also known as Siddhavatam fort.

How to reach

By Air : The nearest airport is in Hyderabad, from where state and private transport are available to reach this place.
By Rail : Nearest railway station is located at Kadapa at a distance of about 25 Km. 
By Road : Nearest bus stop is located at Siddhavatam village at a distance of about 1 Km from the fort. This village can be reached by road from Kadapa district by state buses, cabs or private vehicles.

  • It is advisable to carry water and light snacks with oneself as there are not many good eating out options here.

  • Attractions- The majestic gateways at the two ends of the fort have embellished pillars and intricate carvings of Gajalakshmi at the top. 17 square bastions which protected the area during the British Raj are still heading their held high. There are few temples inside the fort premises namely, Ranganayaka Swamy Temple, Siddheswara Temple, Durga Temple and the Bala Brahma Temple.
