About Tawang

Tawang is a town situated at an elevation of approximately 10,000 ft in the north western part of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Tawang is both historically and naturally endowed. It is located at a distance of 183 Kms from Bomdila. Breathtaking valleys, misty rivers and stunning waterfalls in this scenic district give you the ultimate experience. The second largest monastery in Asia and the largest in India is the Tawang Monastery.

    - Tawang Monastery: It is the native place of 6th Dalai Lama and is also a hometown for more than 500 lamas.
    - Jang falls: Jang falls, also known as Nuranang Falls, is a gorgeous fall which is situated in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
    - Torgya Festival: A monastic festival usually celebrated in January every year. Monastic masked dances are performed in Cham-lang, courtyard of the Tawang Monastery.
