About Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary

This wildlife sanctuary is the largest among other wildlife sanctuaries in Tripura occupying an area of 197.7 square kilometres. Established in 1988, it is located in the South Tripura District and boasts of a variety of flora and fauna. There are four types of vegetation in this area which are the tropical semi-evergreen forest, the east Himalayan lower bhanar Sal, the moist mixed deciduous forest, and the Savanna woodland. Various medicinal plants like Tulsi, Sarpagandha, Kalmegh,etc are seen here along with shrubs, herbs and more than 200 tree species.

How to reach

By Road : The sanctuary can be easily reached from bus or taxi from Agartala. The distance is about 95 kms by road.
By Rail : The nearest railhead is at Dharmanagar from where buses/private cars/taxis can be availed to reach here. 
By Air : The nearest airport is in Agartala.
